Your car's belts and hoses are essential to the
cooling, air conditioning and charging systems, and to the engine.
Routine check and replacement intervals are not to be taken for
granted because they can brake down, leave you stranded and cause
serious damage to your engine.
Timing Belt, Water Pump
The timing belt keeps the crankshaft and camshaft mechanically synchronized to maintain the engine timing.

The Timing Belt is not readily visible andshould be replaced
between 60,000 and 90,000 miles depending on the manufacturer
specifications. Being labor intensive, it is also
recommended to replace the water pump at the same time.

Whether serpentine, V-Belt or fan belt, they are all on the outside of the engine, and transmit power from the front of the engine to the accessories that need to be driven: air conditioning, the charging system and the cooling fans. Some cars have one belt, two and even three belts, depending on car manufacturer and model.

Hoses
Radiator and Heater Hoses carry coolant to and from the engine, radiator and heater core.
