Tire Servicing

Your car's tires affects its ride, handling, traction and safety.  Tires are the critical connection between your car and the road in all sorts of driving conditions.

Why do i need that?

To maximize tire life and safety, check tire condition and inflation pressure regularly and have the tires rotated and balance.  Tire replacement may be necessary if the thread depth is below the minimum legal requirement, or the sidewalls are severely cracked or punctured.  In some cares, tread punctures cannot be repaired.

Today's tires are marked with letters to indicate their speed rating. Speed ratings are based on laboratory tests which relate to performance on the road. Tires may be marked with one of these speed symbols, M, N, P, Q, R, S, T, U, H, V, W and Y to identify the particular tire's speed rating. Additionally, the letter Z may appear in the size designation (see chart below).
When a replacement of your tires is required, consult the vehicle manual or tire placard for proper size and speed rating (if required).
If the vehicle manual  specifies speed-rated tires, the replacement tires must have the same or higher speed rating to maintain vehicle speed capability.
If tires with different speed ratings are mounted on the same vehicle, the tire or tires with the lowest rating will limit the tire-related vehicle speed.

Typical Service

  • Check inflation pressure at least once a month including the spare.
  • Have the tires rotated every 6,000 miles or every other oil change.
  • Rotation times also serves as a good opportunity to have the tires balanced. Unbalanced tires can cause rapid wear of shock absorbers and struts. Uneven or accelerated tire wear may indicate an alignment problem. Have your car's alignment checked at least once a year
